After her meeting Sydney returns home in the not to best of moods:
"I can't believe it, how dare he..."
"Syd, is that you?"

"Hi babe, what'd you forget?"
"Forget?! Nothing!! I can't believe this, Paul you do choose some bad ones. I can't understand why...I mean I've done nothing wrong..."
"Syd, slow down....slow down. What's going on?"
"Paul, your so called mate Marc has put a complaint in about me at the hospital!! How dare he do this to me, I've done nothing wrong...its more your fault than mine.."
"Hang on Syd, we both committed to this relationship you know....takes two to tango you know...."

"Yeah I know but I helped his wife through such a difficult time, I was professional and friendly. I did him a favour and look how he's repayed me!!"
"So why you back from the hospital?"
"I've been suspended Paul, that lousy, two faced so called friend of yours...."
"Hang on Syd..he has lost his wife, he's just finding someone to lash out at!"
"Yeah but I helped him, why's he doing this to me."
"Syd, come on, it'll all be alright. They'll have you back at work in no time..you wait and see."
"They better because if I get sacked then Carrie Martin won't be the only one six feet under around here!"

Its mid morning when Laura Heppal reaches school:
"Sorry I'm late, I didn't mean to be but I got held up at Tom's school...sorry..."

"Laura! We didn't expect you back so soon! Welcome back...take a seat."

"Oh Laura, your back, where have you been? I mean Harry's been very weird when I've seen him. What's going on?"
"What?! I mean, you don't know what's happened??"
"No, Laura, tell me what's going on...."
"Miss Heppal, Miss Dixon, everything alright back there?"
"Yes Sir, sorry."
"Roxy, I'll tell you at lunchtime.."

Its lunchtime and Laura's just finished telling the gang what happened:
"So anyway, Megan had me tied up and then my Dad and Harry burst through the doors. Harry grabbed the gun but that physopath shot my Dad...he's ok but he's in hospital."
"Oh My God, Laura! How are you being so calm about this."
"I don't know, I really don't know. I was terrified when I was there but now, well I kinda just want to get on with stuff. I mean we're in our final year and I'm getting married!!"
"Laura, you know if you ever want to talk to anyone you can talk to us...we're all here for you."
"Thanks guys, I really appreciate that."

"I can't beleive what that bitch did to you....I mean.....god, I don't even know what to say."
"Its ok Max, I don't know either. All I know was she was completely out of her tree and they taken her back into custody. I'm just glad that Dad and Harry found me...it could have been much worse you know..."
"But Laura, why on earth weren't the police involved? I mean they should have been round here, asking questions, trying to find you, not letting your Dad and fionce go careering off after you..."
"Well there was stuff going on...I don't know exactly what.....but they found me.."
"God Laura, you've had a tough time, all this on top of your mum going to prison."

"Oh, yeah...I miss her so much. We're not even allowed to see her you know....."
"Why not, she's your mum?"
"I know but in their eyes she's a murderer....I want her to be here, I want to talk to her about mother daughter stuff you know....Dad misses her soo much as well but he's had so much on his plate.."

"Laura, don't get upset....come here. Look you can stay at mine if you want."
"No its ok, really. Harry's staying with me until Dad gets out of hospital. Maybe he'll stay longer...I don't know.."
"Well if you ever want a time out Laura, our place is always open."
"Thanks Roxy, thanks you guys, your all great."

Later that evening Jason is getting ready for his date:
"Ok, right, hair looks great, clothes...great, mind...oh who am I kidding I'm nervous as hell! Ma.....Maaa, can you come here a minute."

"Do I look alright."
"Jase, dear, you look great. What you doing?"
"I told you, I've got a date with Phil!"
"What, you didn't tell me that. Jason, are you sure you should be going out so soon after the fight. I mean you were hurt..I dont want you to go."
"Ma, please don't make this hard. Its my first date with a guy, I have to go...I really like him.."
"I know but you had to go to hospital..I really don't think your well enough."
"Please Ma, please. What am I going to say to him?"
"Well you should have thought about it harder when you accepted his offer...I mean you sick enough not to go to school but you can go out on a date...I don't think so."

"Ohhh, go on then..but Jason, i'm giving you extra money and your cabbing it there and back!"
"Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. I'l careful I promise. Now do I look ok?"
"You look great J, how could anyone resist my little boy."

Paul's at home when Garth arrives:
"Hi Paul."
"Hey Garth, do you want any food, I'm just gonna cook some burgers."
"No I'm alright thanks, I ate out?"
"Garth...you know what I'm gonna say don't you....."
"Yep....how can I afford to eat out when I havne't paid the rent....well here it is, the rent that is.."

"Great, thanks Garth! So you finally got a job huh, where you working?"
"I didn't get a job."
"Oh Garth, you haven't been hassling Pen again have you? You can't expect her to start giving you money after what you did..."
"I didn't get it off Pen either."
"So where the hell did you get it?"
"I got a loan!! Isn't that great. I don't have to get a job now cause I've the loan money."

"How the hell did you get a loan?"
"Oh well I just went to bank and got one."
"And they gave you one, are they stupid or what!"
"Well they don't know that me and Pen are taking a break. And I just said we needed the extra money to pay for the building work, which is kinda true as we were building Penelope's mum's flat."
"Garth, you stupid, stupid man. So instead of sorting your life out you've just made it worse...when are you going to get some common sense."
"I thought you'd be pleased."
"Well I am, I got my money, but Garth you need to sit down and properly think about your life...you digging yourself into a hole here mate and there's gonna be no-one around to bail you out if you carry on this way."
 

Downtown Phil and Jason have finished their meal and have hit the clubs:
"This is great...Jason, you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm just a bit tired...my ribs are hurting.."
"God, I'm so thoughtless, I hadn't even thought about you being ill."
"I'm not ill, I'm ok really.."
"You not, come on, lets go sit down for a bit."

"So you had a good time tonight?"
"Yeah Phil, its been amazing...I mean, yeah its been fun."
"Its alright Jason, I think its been amazing to. Your a really fab guy, I'm real glad I met you that night."
"Aww, I feel the same even though it did end up the way it did...you know..but you came along and saved me from that guy.."

"You know what I'm lost my mood for partying now.."
"Oh, I thought we were having fun."
"Did I say we weren't, I just dont want to dance anymore...there's other things I'd rather do."
