"Oh Kate, I'm so sorry, he'll be back in a couple of days, don't worry."
"No...you don't get it! He's gone for good...my marriage, its over!"

"Kate, come sit down.......now what the hell's going on? He can't just up and leave?"
"Yeah....bu-t he ha-s Marc."
"Why? Why would he do that?"
"He says ou-r marri-age, he says it was a scam. That we never spent any time together...he said I was breaking his heart...oh but if he only knew...."
"I'm so sorry Kate, its all my fault..you staying here and helping me with Chris"
"No, no! Do not blame yourself Marc! I was only too happy and I'd do it all over again....but what am I going to do, I can't afford our house on my own.."

"Move in here Kate.."
"What? Oh I mean thanks. Are you sure??"
"Yes, more than. Its ridiculous you linving somewhere you can't afford when you spend half the time here anyway...and ..."

"I've also got a job proposition for you..."
"Oh....go on then..."
"Kate, I know this is a HUGE ask but would you consider becoming Chris's full time nanny, its just that work want me to go back full..."
"Yes"
"time and I don't want to let them...what...yes?"
"Yes! I'd love too!! Yes I'd love to move in and yes I'd love to be Chris's nanny. It'll take my mind off Keith.."

Later that evening Penelope and Roxy are off to Pahala University for their tour:
"I don't want you to go Mummy."
"Its ok Daniel, I'll only be a few days..you'll have your sister and gran.."
"You will come back won't you...not like Daddy."
"Oh Daniel, of course I'll come back, I'm nothing like Daddy."

"Now Mum, you will look after everything won't you."
"Yes, of course dear, I brought you up didn't I, I know how to look after a family."
"Thanks for doing this, god, I'm so nervous...taking my oldest daughter to university!!"
"Mum...the cab's here.."
"Oh, ok then, right, c'mon hugs and kisses. I'll see you all in a few days....love you..."
"Mum...c'mon on..."
"Yes, Oh, I'm sorry, coming.."

The next morning Paul and Sydney are rising:
"Morning beautiful...so shall we get all your stuff today?"
"I can't think about that right now Paul, for goodness sakes...I've got better things on my mind!"
"Sorry...."
"No Paul, I'm sorry I snapped. I've got that meeting today remember, to see if I've kept my job!"
"Oh Syd, I completely forgot, I'm just so excited about you moving in.."

"I know you are and so am I..but I just need to get this out of the way first."
"I know, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry Paul, I'm moving, you can't stop me...its just when. You never know, if I lose my job today and I'll all the time in the world to move in!"
"Arr, don't say that..I'm sure you'll be fine.."
"I hope so Paul...I really hope so."

"Morning Garth..."
"Morning Harry...didn't expect to see you here!"
"I told Sangeev I'd do some of the books for the pub so I thought I'd stop by on my way. So its the big day for your Roxy!"
"What do you mean?!"

"Its her interview....yuo know...at Pahala?"
"What the hell are you about Harry..."
"Oh, she didn't tell you?.....damn it, I knew I shouldn't have said anything!"
"She's going to Pahala!?! That's miles away! How the hell has she got the money?!"
"Well she phoned Laura so all I know is she applied for a scholarship and passed the exam."
"When are they going?"
"Garth, they've gone...they left last night!"

Roxy and Penelope have arrived at Pahala University:
"I don't know how I feel about you coming here, Roxy. It's so far from home. I mean, the flight itself was 23 hours! What if something happened to you? What if-"
"Since when have you cared about what I do? It's always been Dee's drinking, Gran's health or Dad's behavior! I never did anything to warrant your attention, not until you,like everyone else, thought I was cheating on exams!"
"Roxy, that's not fair! It's been a rough time, I-"
"Just hush will you! I never been the object of your attention, maybe those few years before Dee came, but since then..."

"Roxy!"
"Roxy Dixon?"
"Yes?"
"I'm Sierra, I'll be your campus tour guide. How are you ladies doing?"
"Fine..."
"Great! Just follow me. Pahala University was founded..."

At the Bains Jen gives a surprise visit:
"Hi Jen, what are you doing here?"
"Can I come in....I just need to have a quick chat.."

"Hi Jen...whats up??"
"I dont really know where to start so.....it didn't work, Im not pregnant."
"Oh..."
"I'm really sorry guys...we'll try again though right?! I've got to wait till next month but we'll try!"
"Yeah, oh Sangeev...."
"Cathy, honey, its alright...we can't expect it to work first time....we'll keep trying, right Jen?"
"Yep, sure, come on Cathy, it'll be fine, maybe next time.."

Back in Pahala and the tour has finished:
"Roxy, you know that we need to talk."
"About what mum?"
"About earlier today, about what you said."
"I don't think-"
"Roxy, be quiet and listen to me."
"Ok-"
"I know that the past few months have been pretty crazy, with Dee's drinking, your father's antics and the divorce. I also know that I haven't been paying that much attention to you, but it's not because I don't love you. It's just that you make my life easier, you don't give me any trouble and..."

"And what mum?"
"Well, I'm really proud of you. You have traveled so far from home to visit this university and to apply for this scholarship. It amazes me that I could be the mother of such a special gir-young woman."
"Ahh, mum."

At the hospital Sydney's waiting nervously:
"Miss Marshall, are you ready?"
"Yes.."
"Now, listen to me, I don't want to lose a perfectly good nurse over this matter so none of this anger ok. Just say your sorry, don't make excuses. Mr Hobly is a fair man so you should be fine..."
"Ok, thankyou."
