The Rogoubh's

Recently returned to Simborough are the ancient Royals - The Rogoubh's. Pronounced Rog-oob the family were mislocated by the Aliens when we were first seperated from the dimension and have only lately returned to us. King Edwards daughter, Claire, is next in line for the throne due to their lack of a son and she will shortly be introduced to "Society" where a suitor, whom will later become King, will be chosen.

Demographics

After an initial occupation in Simborough of 44 the new dimension has caused somewhat of a population explosion with Sims both moving to and being born into Simborough. On Day 17 Chanuka Carr was the 25th baby to born and took the population to a groudbreaking 100. Simborough's population has never been this high, not even before the initial upside down head plague which wiped all original residents out. We hope to see it continue to rise with our children and immigrations although restrictions may have to be sought in the latter case. With only 3 community lots the Hood Council & King Edward are planning a huge overhaul of lots so that there at least 8 community lots, including one solely for elders, for our occupation.

Stars

As the population of Simborough grows so does the number of famous Sims living in our hood. From the old world we have Josie Harlow, Britney Jones & Kaleesha Weaver. However with the arrival of the new dimension and more space there have been arrivals of more. Ruth Roberts & Justine Cairns (both actress's on Suburb Sim) have moved to the hood as well as the notable Stephens Evans (WhoDunIt?). As well as a few new, homebred stars including model Daniel Oognata and concert pianist Marsha Harrow we hope that many more stars will continue to visit, stay and perhaps move to our hood.

Diversity

Did you know that Simborough is culturally and racially diverse. Along with our native Simborough Sims we have asian, afro carribean and oriental families living and working alongside us. There is also a thriving Gay community which Gay Rights Leader Marylena Jones strives to keep "fun & safe for gay & straight". This diversity has given Simborough the means to develop equality for all and whilst there is always distinctions we pride ourselves in making those as small as possible. The hood council hopes to bring all these aspects of culture together when they open the Equality Plaza, a community lot in recognition of all cultures present in Simborough.

Organisations

We currently have two organisations in Simborough with the hopes of new ones forming with time. The SSW (Society for Simmish Women) was founded by Gloria Oognata and Polly Derwin in the old world after Polly struggled to cope with divorce. These two friends thought that a society of this sought would bong and strenghten the female community with Simborough and it has managed to live up to this expectation. They meet weekly for social events such as fair's, talks and presentations. The second and more newly formed society is the Grey Sims Society. Formed in the new world due to the new lifestages and therefore the new need to cater for elders this society gives the opportunity for elders to voice their rights and concerns over the hood. Although only currently two members it is sure to grow and develop through time. If you would like to start a society in Simborough please contact your local representative.

Council

The local council works on rotations of 15days within our calender. The soon to be elected council will be made up of King Edward, International Affairs Rep, 1 Elder Rep, 2 Adult Reps, 1 Teen Rep. Within the Adult Reps the catergory will be further broken down into 9career spokespersons (1 of which will be elected to become the rep) and a household/keeper rep who will deal with residential affairs. Please check back for your local representatives (you may also check the Community News Page).
International Affairs: Anthony Troy
Elder Rep: Mick Sherwood
Adult Rep: Sally Phillips
Adult Rep: Lucy Derwin
Teen Rep: Daniel Oognata
Once elected all problems must go through your local rep and cannot be taken directly to the state leader. If this is done the case will not be heard and will be disallowed.

University

A radical change that King Edward has decided is upon is the twinning of Simborough with a state University. The twinning will occur from the beginning of March 2005 and teen sims should look out for new rules and regulations regarding the application and travel to and from university. It is thought that a high percentage of teen sims will opt to go to university as the additional bonuses not to mention the increase in average life span are great lures. As soon as a teen rep is chosen please take any queries and comments to them immediately.
University intake occurs every 5 days and you must be in the last third of teenhood to apply.
