Soulmate or Socialite When Teresa and I first moved to Simborough we made friends with every single sim that we met, as most sims do. These all important friends are essential for keeping your spirits high, for getting you those all important promotions and for generally keeping your life an interesting one. Once, long ago, when there was no partying, fewer careers and no way that you leave your home sims were forced to make friends by simply inviting neighbours around. With the modern locations and attractions that are now available to us how do most sims make their friends? Here’s the answer. It seems that the majority of sims (40% of the population) make friends by randomly looking the phone book, deciding who to be friends with and then inviting them downtown, to oldtown or if they really want to show off taking them on vacation. I find this very strange as this is not at all ho we do things in Simborough. There is no looking in the phone book and deciding who to be friends with. Here we simply meet sims. If we go downtown to do some shopping we might bump into a sim we get along with, or perhaps our children make friends and their friends parents later become our friends. However only 12% of Simmish population seem to do this. Anther way that I thought would be high on the priorities would be throwing parties. However, here I was wrong again. A combined 22% of sims threw parties, 10% to become closer to those they already knew and 12% to meet new sims and make new friends. A further 8% had hectic lives and only managed to keep in touch by phone calls and postcards while a further 8% had even more hectic lives and didn’t have any friends. How these sims cope I don’t know. The most shocking statistic was that 12% of sims actually fool sims into being friends with them by means of a painting. This painting has been banned and possession of it is illegal. Sims are supposed to be friendly, social entities, not cheating, lying ones. So in summary most of the sim population seem to be in the soulmate category. Theyhave a few friends who they are very close to but not a huge quantity friends. I think sims should try and be a bit of both, a little social but also have a few soulmates. Close friends are needed when it comes to sharing problems but a large number of friends will get you up that career tree. So..which are you??

Laganaphyllis Simnavorii - Killer or Healer

First and foremost I am a scientist and that means that I like to know the workings of everything that goes on in our lives. The way in which the world works and the processes that we go through to achieve even the simplest of tasks such as fufilling our needs inspire me and drive me on with an aspiration of wanting to know more and more. The mircale of life is one that, as the world has changed, has grown more intimate and complicated with the addition of life stages and the fact that we know directly pass on genetic information to our children. But with this becomes a new stage for all of us, one which is invevitable and that is death. A new goal in our lives will now become one to stay young, one to hold back time, and one to live as long as we possibly can.

The current laws in Simborough mean that there is now a fine line between using Elixir of Life to stave off elder hood and becoming obsessed with staying youthful. As our nation grows the population explosion will push our national population demographics to an elder skewed one. We will need more and more Elixir and it is this that has pushed the government to legalising the breeding, keeping & research of the Laganaphyllis Simnavorii or commonly known CowPlant. It is so ironic that this dangerous part animal, part plant is actually the source of a life giving fluid for us.

It is this mysterious creature that has baffled me for so long. Something of nightmares, something so terrifying as this creature yet this animal allows us to extend our lives, without laws possibly indefinately! Much research is needed to be carried out to establish just how Elixir of Life is produced from this organism. How much does it produce? Can it be milked regularly? What food stuffs should it be given? Until now Elixir has just arrived on our doorsteps, you asked no questions and you were told no lies. It was just there. But now our eyes have been opened and we cannot shut them again. If these beasts were to be let loose then save us all as what chance do we stand against these monsters?!

But its not all bad. Luckily these creatures are confined to the pots which they are kept in. I am uncertain as yet to how far they may be able to reach with their tentacles but rest assured, we not about to have an explosion of monsters running around on our hands. We are not even sure whether we can tame these beasts. Perhaps they're the next best thing to fish? Who knows until I get my hands on one. Unfortunately that will be slightly out of my control. Although the hood council has allowed me permission to keep these beings I am not at liberty to go to University so I will have to rely on one of my kids to bring home the bacon as it were..or should I say..beef!

Strict laws are being drawn up to only allow Sims within a Natural Sciences career field to obtain these beasts as they are, as said before, very dangerous and much research must be done on them. Households with children will definately not be allowed them and it is likely that special, confined rooms will be the only the place that they may be kept. The day is getting very close when they will arrive so look out for further reports and remember....if you hear a moo anywhere near you, don't stick around to find out what it is...run for the hills!
